Description
A conversation with Jeanne Meister (co-author of The 2020 Workplace), Gary Woodill (author of The Mobile Learning Edge), and Lee Perlis (Senior Marketing Manager, Blackboard)

Join an online conversation with three experts about how digital tools have changed the world of sales and sales training. Jeanne and Gary first discuss traditional approaches to sales training, before the advent of digital networks. Digital networks have resulted in a shift in how humans communicate, share information and collaborate, and have had a profound impact in many areas of life. The digital revolution has resulted in an information explosion that has given every person with a mobile phone the latest knowledge about every conceivable subject. Social networking and instant access to product web sites have empowered consumers to learn about any item they want to buy, and to shop for the best prices. At the same time, the aggregation and analysis of “big data” collected about consumers as they shop, search or communicate has given power to sales forces that mine this data and use it to predict consumer behaviors and buying patterns. Traditional sales techniques have morphed into collaboration with the customer, and this requires fresh thinking about how to approach and work with customers.

In the second half of this webinar, Jeanne and Gary are joined by Lee Perlis to look at some new tools for sales and sales training. These include intelligent databases, dashboards and other visualizations, the use of social media and mobile devices to support sales, and how this new mix requires new approaches to sales training. New training methods include simulations, games, online role-playing and mobile learning. Join us for a fascinating conversation on how the world of sales and sales training is changing.

Audio on speakers kept fading in and out. I wonder if they kept their mouths to the microphone. Woman speaker didn't add much. Would have liked to see more in-depth examples of tools being used on iPad for sales persons. 3 / 5
