Description
As HR professionals, we work hard to help train our employees and produce meaningful behavior change within our organizations. As a result, we are disappointed when our employees fail to learn or don’t transfer learning back to their workplace. We may be tempted to blame our students or technology, but the truth is that we often fail because we don’t understand the mind of the learner. As a result, we build training modules that are not consistent with the brain’s natural means of acquisition. More importantly, we fail to reinforce the learning after it has been presented. Teaching should be more effective, and it can be more effective once we understand how the learner’s mind operates.

Forgetting is usually considered a failure of memory systems. But modern cognitive science tells us that forgetting is actually an adaptive mechanism that allows the brain to purge unimportant information. Indeed, within two hours, more than 50% of content is forgotten, and within a week, 95% is forgotten.

We all know that no employee learns from a single exposure to a training. We need to provide more, we need to booster all training experiences. In this webinar, internationally renowned neuropsychologist Dr. Art Kohn will review four techniques that overcome the forgetting curve. These techniques include booster quizzing, social elaboration, strategic coaching, and depth of processing.

In this hands-on seminar, we will teach HR professionals techniques to incorporate these techniques into both their formal and informal trainings. Within a week, your trainings will be significantly more effective.

Who Should Participate
Anyone involved in improving training, corporate culture, and change management.

"I signed off my last webinar as I found the presenter less than engaging and didn't receive any new content. This was interesting and very relevant both from a learning/training perspective and alignment to our business strategy regarding employee development. One suggestion I would make is for Dr. Kohn to eliminate the slide that refers to the Trainers Warehouse as a ""Don't Do"" example." 5 / 5
