Description
As 2014 approaches and health care reform evolves, many employers will turn to web-based enrollment solutions to satisfy upcoming compliance obligations. With health care reform, emerging regulations and changing carrier contracts, HR managers and benefits administrators have many details, deadlines and requirements to consider.
Few, however, will stop to examine the liability that comes with managing enrollment in carrier contract agreements based on coverage being offered; potential areas where carrier contracts may leave them exposed to pitfalls and liability or “Best Practices” for vendor selection. How can HR managers and benefits administrators better cover themselves, their employees and companies? Summer Hamilton of BeneTrac will focus on the emerging market of web-based enrollment companies. She will address some of the risks and liability that come with vendor selection and how HR can find out more to make sure they, and their organizations, are covered. This session will help to connect the dots, highlight the exposures and offer suggestions for developing a solid solutions roadmap. Topics in this session will include the following: • The rapid expansion of the web-based enrollment market and its history. • The risks and liability that come with vendor selection. • Important questions HR managers, benefits administrators and companies should ask in evaluating system capabilities. • Processes and technologies that can be put into place to help HR and organizations better manage healthcare reform mandates. • How technology can help to ensure compliance with executed carrier contract verbiage. • Common carrier rules and eligibility requirements that, if not accounted for, can leave corporations exposed, and potential ramifications that can result. • How HR can find out more about regulatory requirements and compliance. Who Should Participate
HR managers, benefits administrators, HR professionals
