Description

How ready is the next generation of leadership talent? A 2009/2010 leadership trends survey identified the competencies most important for emerging leaders. While given high marks for their operational and technology skills, many lack strategic thinking and the ability to inspire and lead change. High potential and leadership development program directors are using this information to redesign their training & coaching interventions to target these critical competencies. In this session, we will review the top competencies in detail and demonstrate how ability and personality assessments blended together (Watson-Glaser II and the CPI 260) can accelerate the development of your organization’s emerging leaders and help good ones become great.

 In particular, the audience will:

•    Learn which competencies are being addressed in cutting-edge leadership development programs and the top 5 competencies next generation leaders are lacking
•    See how the Watson-Glaser II Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGII) and the CPI 260 personality assessment, in combination, provide a rich “3D” view of a leader’s strengths and shortcomings
•    Consider 4 real-world cases that illustrate how assessment results can help design career paths and shape the feedback conversation with leaders

Join Rob Devine, Senior Consultant and Facilitator, and Judy Chartrand, Ph.D. and  Consultant Chief Scientist at Pearson TalentLens, as they discuss the link between critical thinking, personality, and performance, and provide a roadmap for developing next-generation leaders within your organization.
