NEW YORK, June 7, 2012 – Buck Consultants, A Xerox Company, has announced that Tamara M. (Tami) Simon has joined the firm as managing director, knowledge resources. The knowledge resources group is responsible for Buck’s national multi-practice legal analysis and publications, government relations, research, surveys, training and knowledge management.
Simon is based in Buck’s Washington, DC office and succeeds Andrea Sellars in anticipation of Sellars’ retirement.
A nationally recognized industry leader, Simon has more than 15 years of experience working with clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to small businesses. As an attorney, she specializes in health and welfare benefits law providing advice on employee benefit design and compliance with relevant federal and state benefit laws and regulations.

She joins Buck Consultants after serving as principal with Mercer’s Washington resource group. She has also worked for the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery and Hewitt Associates.
Simon is a frequent public speaker and author. She has written numerous articles in leading industry publications, including the Benefits Law Journal, Employee Relations Law Journal, and Employee Benefits Journal.
She has also served as a faculty member for programs sponsored by the American Law Institute/American Bar Association (ALI/ABA), Health Enhancement Research Organization, International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, Employee Benefits Institute of America, and Worldwide Employee Benefits Network.
Simon is on the advisory board of BNA Tax Management’s Compensation Planning Journal and the steering committee of the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network’s DC chapter.
Simon received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and a law degree, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law. She is a member of the Illinois Bar.
