Yahoo! HotJobs Introduces Industry's First Featured Listings Product for Recruiters

By:
Date: June 22 2005

New York--June 20, 2005-–Yahoo! HotJobs (NASDAQ: YHOO) today unveiled Premium Placement, a new recruitment solution that enables recruiters’ employment listings to appear at the top of relevant job search results pages on www.hotjobs.com. This new solution, which recruiters can purchase for a flat monthly fee, is the first of its kind in the recruitment industry.

Premium Placement enables businesses to pay for placement at the top of job search results pages based on the relevancy of the job seeker’s query. The placement is based on the industry a job seeker selects (i.e. Healthcare), the keyword (i.e. Nurse) they enter, the location they choose, or a combination of these factors. Companies purchasing Premium Placement will appear in one of the two top positions on the page and may be rotated with other employer listings, based on the total number of eligible listings for a specific query. The listings also include company logos, links to company profile pages on Yahoo! HotJobs, including all relevant job listings, and direct links to company career sites.

“Recruiters are always looking for new, efficient ways to reach qualified job seekers,” said Dan Finnigan, executive vice president and general manager of Yahoo! HotJobs. “This solution gives them the option to ensure prominent display of their listings to a targeted set of job seekers.”

Autodesk was one of the first companies to test the Premium Placement product. “Autodesk has been using Yahoo! HotJobs as an integral part of its online recruitment strategy since 1998, and when we recently tested its media and targeting solutions, we were even more pleased with the results,” said Amy McKee, staffing manager of Autodesk. “Our enhanced presence on the site through Premium Placement improves our ROI and boosts our employment brand in this increasingly competitive job market.”
