ROI Institute Announces Business Alliance with Human Capital Source

Birmingham, Alabama, March 6, 2012 –The ROI Institute, a Birmingham, Alabama based firm has announced a business alliance with Human Capital Source, based in San Jose, California. Under the terms of the alliance, the ROI Institute and Human Capital Source will co-develop several new products and services for business analytics, based on the work of Dr. Jac Fitz-enz. Jack Phillips, Chairman of the ROI Institute, Patti Phillips, President and CEO of the ROI Institute, and Jac Fitz-enz, Founder and CEO of Human Capital Source are all directly involved in the new product development.

The ROI Institute provides consulting, workshops, publications, research, and benchmarking on the ROI Methodology, developed by Dr. Jack Phillips in the 1970s. This new alliance will create a variety of workshops on workforce and business analytics along with a special certification that awards successful candidates the designation of Certified Analytics Professional. New analytics projects, additional publications, tools, and templates, will be developed to assist professionals and managers who are tackling analytics projects.

Dr. Fitz-enz, the founder and creator of Human Capital Analytics, has pioneered measurement, metrics, and analytics in human resources for over 40 years. Dr. Jac, as he is known worldwide, author of the award-winning The ROI of Human Capital: Measuring the Economic Value of your Company’s Human Capital Investments (AMACOM, 2000) and the sequel, The New HR Analytics: Predicting the Economic Value of your Company’s Human Capital Investments (AMACOM, 2010), says of the alliance, “This alliance will bring together the work of Human Capital Source and its clients and associates with the work of the ROI Institute and its clients and associates.” Fitz-enz, points out that he and the Phillipses have trained and consulted in over 50 countries in the past 30 years, “Our unmatched experience demonstrates how ROI evaluation and predictive analytics naturally connect and cover everything from basic performance measurement to strategic predictions of future values.”

Jack Phillips, Chairman of the ROI Institute adds, “We are so pleased to work collaboratively with Jac to develop these products and services. For many years, Jac has enjoyed the number one name recognition in the fields of human capital strategy, measurement, and analytics. Together, we are designing a world class analytics certification program, patterned after the success of the ROI Certification, in which over 3000 applicants have completed the requirements to earn the designation of Certified ROI Professional.”

The alliance will bring together the professional interests and skills of the ROI Institute and Human Capital Source. Phillips points out how the collaborative effort will help organizations:

“Although the analytics field is fairly new, it is growing rapidly to offer a wide range of products and services. For many organizations, having a healthy, functioning analytics section has become a prerequisite for sustainable advantage, guiding executives to fully understand what is contributing to success and supporting adjustments and improvements along the way.”

A two day workshop, the first of several training programs to come, is already under development. Certification will be available in early 2013. Other books and materials are currently under development and will also be available in 2013. Dr. Kirk Smith, Senior Associate with the ROI Institute will guide this project and will serve as a principal facilitator and consultant for the ROI Institute.
