How to Spot a Fake Green Card

One way to tell whether a green card, properly known as a resident alien card, is real or fake is by judging the photo. If the person´s picture is staring back at you, you probably have been dealt a bogus card.

Agents with the Immigration and Naturalization Service say that if you can´t see the subject´s right ear in the photo, then it´s a phony document. Employers should report individuals using phony green cards to their regional INS offices.
