Ashworth College Online Travel Agent Training Group Offers Passport to Career Success

By:
Date: December 26 2012

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Georgia – December 26, 2012 – With flying becoming increasingly more complicated and deals, perks and travel rewards harder to come by, there may soon be a renaissance within the travel and hospitality industry. It’s one of the reasons why Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/), a leading online school, launched its Travel Community Group as a resource for students interested travel agent training and other travel and tourism career fields.
In spite of the many “self-serve” budget travel websites out there, the American Society of Travel Agents reports that because many consumers still appreciate the high level of personal service, travel agents continue to book 85% of all cruises, 70% of all tours and packages, and 50% of all airline tickets. And the Bureau of Labor Statistics points to job opportunities for travel agents who specialize in niche groups and individuals with a special interest like adventure tours and destination weddings or for corporate travelers.

Ashworth’s accredited online travel agent training course is a popular program and the Travel Group currently serves more than 400 members (December 2012). The group is part of the 125,000 plus members the online Ashworth Community.

“The Travel Group was created so that students pursuing Ashworth’s travel agent training course would have a place to network with and learn from other students, as well as members of the professional travel and tourism community,” said Ryan Rode, Ashworth College’s Director of Social Media and Student Experience.

Rode went on to explain that with the launch of the Community Group for the Ashworth College online travel agent course, Ashworth provides a state-of-the-art online resource that shares professional content with non-students, as well as provides social networking opportunities for existing students.

Ashworth College’s travel agent training program is offered at the career diploma level. Ashworth also offers a complimentary career program in Hotel and Restaurant Management and its Certified Wedding Planner program makes it possible for graduates to become a Certified Sandals® Resorts Destination Wedding Specialist.
