The STEM shortage (the deficit of science, technology, engineering, and mathematical talent) has been a reoccurring topic in my blog posts. Recently, I had the opportunity to guest blog about STEM talent on the website of Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), writing about 3 Effective Strategies for Retaining STEM Talent.

Like APQC, KellyOCG has conducted extensive research into the STEM talent shortage. Their free report, How to Find (And Keep) STEM Talent, is worth reading. It explains:

 why demand for STEM talent is growing,
 the current and projected breakdown of STEM employment by occupation,
 which STEM skills are most in demand,
 which U.S. locations hold the most STEM jobs,
 how STEM jobs are distributed across industries
 why there is an impending STEM talent drought, and
 how employers can “weather the storm.”

If you like what you read, learn more by registering for KellyOCG’s upcoming webcast, The STEM Talent Gap, which will be held on October 18, 2012.
