When we are children we are told that we learn from our mistakes and how important that is.
Unfortunately, as adults that message has been lost. Whether we do it to ourselves or someone else imprints the message – we learn that as adults we should not be making mistakes.
Zappos’ CEO, Tony Hsieh, believes that mistakes should be celebrated rather than used as a jumping off point for finger pointing and blaming.
Many things we now have in our lives were invented as a result of a mistake.
How many light bulbs didn’t work before Edison had a success?
How many cars were developed before Ford invented one that worked?
When you are learning something new you are expected to make mistakes – how else will you learn?
How can changes be made if we do not attempt new things and have new ideas?
