Good advice for vendor selection when considering talent management vendors. Kyle Lagunas from Software Advice suggests you ask:

1. How is your product different from the competition?
This is important - Kyle suggests you find out what really makes the vendor stand out from their competitors.

2. How can your product improve my processes?
While it's important to streamline processes, Kyle makes the key observation that, "rolling out talent management software offers a unique opportunity to refine your processes, not just automate them."

3. How will you help us to be successful?
Will the vendor proactively help your firm get the most out of their technology or provide support only when something goes wrong? Great considerations to think about.

4. Can I get a reference?
Kyle points out it's important to ask for customer references in order to find out who else is using the vendor. Ideally, get references for companies similar in size or industry to yours.
