Corporate websites were used to present consumers with information about the history of the company, the product and other business operations. Today, the target audience has expanded from solely consumers to include job seekers as well.

The way companies represent themselves on their website has an astounding affect on attracting the right potential candidates. Companies need to establish their employment brand and effectively communicate their company culture in order to increase the number of successful hires. By having a corporate website that includes the company values, mission, vision, culture and take on diversity, job seekers can evaluate their situation and career desires to better match themselves with the right company.

Companies can appeal to today’s fast paced society by offering job seekers a company video that showcases their culture and what makes them unique. By providing accurate information that is detailed and offers clarity, job seekers will not only match themselves with the right company, but ultimately the right career opportunity.

Video allows a company to stand out which can generate interest among job seekers. This initial interest can result in positive references to the company and referrals to friends or family members, increasing company exposure and the recruitment of the right candidates.

  • Diane Horton When it comes to establishing "employment brand", who should own this? Marketing? HR? Other? What are some of the best methods you have seen used to develop an employment brand?
