What does it take to launch your MarketPay System? Here’s the typical steps involved:
Meet to establish system parameters Our first step will be to meet with you to discuss your specific benchmarking needs and to determine the sources of data that we’ll load on your private web-site. We’ll discuss your current databases, including both internal information (job, employee, salary range data) and your sources of compensation survey information. Based on this discussion, we’ll put together a specific implementation schedule to launch your MarketPay web-site. Assign a URL for your site You’ll receive a specific web address for your MarketPay site. We’ll configure this site to be accessible only from within your organization’s network as a first level of security to prevent unauthorized access. Data collection and loading Using downloads of job and employee information from your HRIS sent to us on simple spreadsheets, we will begin to build your on-line database. Next, we will wrestle through all the CDs, web-sites, spreadsheets sent to you by your survey data providers and put all of your survey information into one consolidated, standardized file for you. For surveys not available in any electronic format, we’ll work with you to have those manually entered into your database. Conversion of your existing survey matches If you can provide us with the details of your current survey matches (in a simple spreadsheet format), we can recreate your current market pricing database on MarketPay during the initial implementation. All of that benchmarking work and intelligence can be saved and smoothly transitioned to your MarketPay database, and this service is included in our initial implementation fees. User and feature definitions We will set up accounts for all the users in your organization so that they can log in to the site and begin using MarketPay. Based on your specific needs, we’ll customize many of the features and screens within your System to recognize your type of compensation program and your organization’s terminology. Training MarketPay is an intuitive and easy-to-use System, such that many of our users begin using it without any sort of training. Nonetheless, our implementation fees include one half-day of on-site training for your staff, where you’ll learn to take full advantage of all of the System’s features. Additional training opportunities are provided by MarketPay throughout the year, so that new staff members can be quickly brought up to speed. On-going support Normal technical assistance is available during all normal business hours, with emergency assistance provided around the clock. |

At MarketPay, we are proud of our technology and believe it to be the best available in our business. Our facilities, networks, hardware and software are all selected for their ability to deliver speed, security, and reliability, so that our users get the finest performance available.
The MarketPay data center Our servers are located in a highly secure, state-of-the-art facility that’s built to withstand hurricanes, earthquakes, lightning, power outages, and telecommunications service interruptions. Biometric hand scans control access to the facility, while sensor-driven cameras monitor all activity around the doors, cages, and cabinets. Redundant high-speed connections to Tier 1 internet backbone providers, coupled with live 24x7x365 network engineers, guarantee 100% uptime to our network. High-speed servers and networks Each year, we add new hardware to the MarketPay network of web servers, data base servers, and load balancers, implementing the latest technology as it becomes available. In 2008, we introduced brand new IBM System x3950 M2 servers, the industry leading 64-bit Intel Xeon-based solution. These new servers have up to 16 quad core 64 bit hyper threaded processors, 1024 Gb of memory and 28 PCI-E slots across 4 chassis, high availability through component redundancy across and within expansion chassis, run time replacement of server chassis, memory, disk drives, fans and PCI components, predictive failure analysis and substantive failure diagnosis, all with advanced vectored cooling and power consumption. The break-through memory mirroring, rerouting and chip kill correction for multiple failures is unrivaled in the industry. Enterprise Linux OS Our systems are built on an EAL4-certified version of the Linux operating system, approved for use by US government agencies for mission-critical and command-and-control operations. There’s nothing “micro” or “soft” in MarketPay’s architecture, ensuring that your confidential information stays protected from hackers, worms, and viruses. High-availability web server MarketPay utilizes AOL’s multithreaded web server, used in the world’s busiest production environments. Our users never have to “wait in line” for web pages or data requests, as this layer effeciently manages all user and database connections. High-performance data base The data base engine behind MarketPay is an ACID-compliant enterprise ORDBMS based on technology originally developed at UC-Berkeley. Designed for high volume environments and boasting a legendary reputation for reliability and stability, our programs take full advantage of state-of-the-art technologies like the new 64-bit processors, which are twice as fast as today’s more commonly used standard. Storage Area Network Designed to handle very large data transfers, our storage area network (SAN) uses multiple disk arrays and Fibre Channel interconnection technology scalable up to 14.4 TB of hot swappable SAS or 12.9 TB SATA. High availability is achieved through redundant chassis, redundant power supplies, redundant controllers and flexible raid configurations. Performance isachieved through a 4 Gbps Fibre Channel (FC) interface, ultra high performance 15,000 rpm drives and advanced caching. |
