Engineering the Workforce: Achieving both Strategic and Tactical Benefits through Workforce Management
Workforce Management (WFM) is traditionally defined as the automation and optimization of the processes responsible for Time and Attendance, Scheduling and Leave Management. While the benefits of such automation efforts are significant – reduced labor cost leakage, improved productivity and increased sales and customer service levels – they are typically tactical in nature. Increasingly though, organizations are interested in leveraging their WFM infrastructures in more strategic ways to answer questions such as: “What is the optimal labor model for our organization?”, “How can we improve long-term utilization of our workforce?”, “Do we have the right mix of full-time and part-time personnel to meet fluctuations in our business?”, “How can we be more proactive in achieving our long-term workforce planning needs?”.
“Engineering the Workforce” involves applying tried and true engineering practices to the discipline of Workforce Management. By creating an operational infrastructure that allows real-time visibility into what drives the demand for labor and how to match long-term demand with supply, the benefits realized through new or existing investments in traditional WFM automation are magnified.
This webinar will define the individual components that comprise an Engineered Workforce Management solution, explain the hard and soft dollar benefits that can accrue and explain how your organization can develop its own unique Engineered WFM roadmap.
