Topic: Best Practices for Talent Acquisition and Performance Management
  Date: April 24, 2008 at 3:00 - 4:00 PM ET

Description
“Best Practices for Talent Acquisition and Performance Management”
Julie White, Ph.D., Senior Managing Partner, IAG

Effective performance management begins well before an employee’s normally scheduled performance review.  Forward thinking companies incorporate validated assessments in the talent acquisition stage, better ensuring they are hiring the right talent for the job.  Traditional approaches focus on “eligibility” factors. Equal focus on “suitability” factors can ensure higher levels of performance and retention. Determining suitability requires the use of assessments specifically designed for this purpose. Equally as important, when companies use a trait-based suitability assessment for hiring, they have data with “long-legs”— data that contributes to employees’ growth and development.   The value of such assessments go beyond selection, and influence coaching, succession planning and team development –contributing to accelerated competency and a true performance-driven culture.  Truly effective organizations tie the competencies assessed through the recruiting and on-boarding phases into the performance management of the individual.  And with today’s robust talent management systems, effective organizations can automatically link competencies assessed through the recruiting and on-boarding phases to ongoing employee improvement – well before the first performance assessment.

In this Webinar, “Best Practices for Talent Acquisition and Performance Management,” Julie White, Ph.D., senior managing partner of Impact Achievement Group, talks about incorporating best performance management practices in companies’ Web-based talent acquisition, talent management and employee performance systems.  Also joining the discussion will be Lorna Daly from Halogen Software and CJ Donnelly of nowHIRE.
